About Horizon Clinic

I am a complementary therapist originally from the United Kingdom and now based in Rotterdam. I trained in Scotland, becoming qualified to practice a number of different therapies.

I operate my own complementary therapy practice both at home and also freelance for other massage businesses. My clinic is a peaceful place at my home in Overschie, Rotterdam. A break away from your usual routine, workplace or home life.

I began in 2002 by taking the first stage of a Reiki course which was inspired by a desire for self improvement and awareness. This fuelled an already existing interest in health and the relationship between the emotional, spiritual and physical state of the body. This, combined with a need to do something fulfilling with my life, led me to study Higher National Certificate (HNC) Complementary Therapies at Moray College in Elgin. From there I continued my studies and completed Higher National Diploma (HND) at College of Commerce in Glasgow. By this time I was fully qualified to practice Clinical Reflexology, Clinical Aromatherapy, Indian Head Massage, Swedish Massage, Sports Massage and level 2 Reiki.

I then worked for a while in a support centre for people with blood borne virus which was a wonderful experience and inspired me to take my knowledge onto a deeper level. I subsequently completed a BSc degree in Reflexology at Napier University in Edinburgh, a course which placed great emphasis on the importance of the philosophies of Traditional Chinese Medicine in my practice. Last year I completed Reiki level 3 and this year I added chair massage to my skills.

I love my job as a complementary therapist and find it very rewarding. I get great satisfaction from seeing the difference these therapies make to people’s health and the short and long term benefits they experience.
